Berdena June (Reeve) Nicodemus was born June 19, 1929, on her parents’ ranch on Waddle Creek near Hamilton.
She was the third of four daughters of Ralph and Edith Reeve and grew up on the family ranch.
She attended the one-room schoolhouse on Waddle Creek and graduated from Moffat County High School.
Berdena married Robert W. Nicodemus on Oct. 4, 1947, and they made their home in Craig. They became the parents of Alman and Dena (Nicodemus) Fletcher.
Berdena was a homemaker but also her husband Robert’s business partner in several endeavors, including custom hay baling, a farm implement dealership, and farming south of Hayden.
She greatly enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and many friends.
She died peacefully on Good Friday, April 6, 2012, at the good age of 82, in her home with her beloved and devoted husband, Robert, of 64 years, and family by her side.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Nicodemus; son Alman (MaryAnn) Nicodemus, of Craig; daughter Dena (John) Fletcher, of Cortez; 12 nieces and nephews; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister Janice Davidson; and sister-in-law Patty Nicodemus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Edith Reeve; sisters Emily Ingram, of Steamboat Springs, and Marlys Myers, of Hamilton; and one granddaughter.
Interment was in the Craig Cemetery. Graveside services were Tuesday, April 10, 2012, and led by her nephew, Dan Davidson.
