Leonard C. Campbell died Dec. 21, 2010, at the age of 85. He was born in 1925 in Baker City, Ore. He graduated high school in Portland, Ore. For 36 years, he worked various jobs including as the head of accommodations for Forest Home Christian Center in Forest Falls, Calif.
After retiring, he traveled the world serving God with Operation Mobilization. He served the community of Forest Falls as the fire chief for 30 years. He served his country during World War II on a Navy ship in the Pacific.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Rae, of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and Craig; sister Janet Harshaw, of Portland, Ore.; son Allan, of Buckeye, Ariz.; daughter Cheryl McCarty, of Pollock Pines, Calif.; daughter Linda McLeod, of Ojai, Calif.
He was preceded in death by daughter Joyce Vivian.
He had seven stepchildren from previous marriages, which include Steve, Gregg and Bruce Rhyne. Leonard was blessed with 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Leonard’s life was Thursday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Trinity Church of Redlands. In place of flowers, the family requests a donation to the American Cancer Society or Forest Home Christian Conference Center Alumni Association.
