Ivan F. Wymore
Dr. Ivan F. Wymore died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011. He was 82.
Ivan was born April 18, 1929, in Craig.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick J. Wymore and Florence A. Knight Wymore, and his loving wives, Opal Wymore and Melva Jean Wymore.
He is survived by brother Wayne Wymore; sister-in-law Pat Wymore, of Craig; sister Lois Hayes, of Albuquerque, N.M.; children Jane (Larry) Pitoniak, of Loveland, Diane (Bill) Dale, of Parker, and Tim (Lisa) Wiebelhaus, of Parker; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Ivan, most recently residing at The Wexford in Loveland, spent his childhood working on the family ranch in Craig, where his brother still
Ivan served his country in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He attended Colorado State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in agriculture in 1955.
He went on to receive his master’s in economics in 1958 and his degree of doctor of philosophy in 1974.
Ivan worked as a watershed management consultant and traveled and worked all over the world, including places like Thailand, the Philippines and Argentina.
In his early retirement, he enjoyed an extended Thanksgiving holiday every year with Jean and his family in Mazatlan, Mexico, where many precious memories were made.
A service was Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins.
Internment followed at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins.
Following the service, friends and family gathered at his home at The Wexford in Loveland.
