Carol Ann Mayfield, mother of Debbie Hansen of Craig, died Oct. 7, 2010, at her daughter’s home following a brief illness. She was 73.
Carol was born Dec. 26, 1936, in Shreveport , La., the daughter of Willie Walker and Richard Lee (Ashby) Waldron.
She married Donald W. Mayfield on Oct. 3, 1987, in Auburn , Wash. Carol lived in Louisiana and Texas for many years.
After marrying Don, they moved to Vancouver, Wash., but for the past nine years, Carol and Don have traveled in their RV to many places in the United States, spending the winters in the south and the summers in the north.
They would work in the RV and national parks as they traveled.
Carol was a loving wife and born again Christian. She had many friends and acquaintances.
She is survived by her husband, Donald W. Mayfield; daughters Debbie Hansen, of Craig, Krystal Hernandez, of San Bernardino, Calif., and Merica Chmait, of Snohomish, Wash.; son Nathanael (Melonie) Mayfield, of Everett, Wash.; grandchildren Zachary Hansen, Christina, Andrea and Corey Hernandez, Chance and Elijah Mayfield, and Vienna Chmait; sister Jane (Jim) Cress, of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; and nephew Mark (Sue) Cress, of Riverton, Wyo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Clay Chance.
