Betty Ann Reece

Betty Ann Wilma Reece died June 19, 2010, at Sandrock Ridge Care and Rehab Center following a lengthy illness. She was 85.
Betty Ann was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Edne Township, Iowa, the daughter of Harvey B. and Catherine M. (Hampson) Hamson. She was raised and attended school in Bricelyn, Minn.
Betty married Leon H. Hall on Jan. 22, 1940, in Forest City, Iowa, and they became the parents of nine children. They made their home in Minnesota, Sterling, and Scottsbluff, Neb., before moving to Craig in 1958.
Mr. Hall died in 1966, and Betty later married Joe Mitchell, and following his death married Don Reece.
Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed growing flowers in her garden and crocheting.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters Sharon Lee, also known as Margaret Ann (Donald) Kottschade, of Winona, Minn., Mary June (Dave) Walters, of Craig, Catherine Wilma (Bob) Simons, also known as Catherine Anies, of LaPuente, Calif., Leann (Joe) Reece, of Craig, Maxine Hall, of Craig and Susan Mae (Curt) Dingman, of Vernal, Utah; sons Richard Leon (Sheila) Hall, of Commerce City, Harlan James (Gloria) Hall, of Aspen, and Harvey Charles Hall, of Farmington, N.M.; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sister Marion (Harold) Guckenburg, Wis.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was June 25, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Lee Byram officiating.
The soloist was Marcus Johnson, who sang “Amazing Grace,” “Old Rugged Cross” and “I Can Only Imagine.”
Honorary Pallbearers were “All Betty’s Family and Her Many Friends.”
