Judith Ann McDowell 1942 - 2010 Craig
Judith Ann “Judy” McDowell died Feb. 2, 2010 at her home west of Craig following a lengthy illness. She was 67.
Judy was born Nov. 27, 1942, in Yreka, Calif., the daughter of Stanley and June (Freshour) Doolittle. She was raised and attended school in Eureka, Calif. Following high school, Judy attended Humboldt State College in Arcadia, Calif., where she received her nursing degree.
Judy married James Kendall McDowell II in November 1964 in Reno, Nev. They became the parents of two sons and made their home in Ten Sleep, Wyo., and Belle Fouche, S.D., before moving to Craig in the late 1970s.
Judy enjoyed knitting and caring for her home and animals.
She is survived by her sons, James K. (Sherry) McDowell, of Denver, and Joseph (Angie) McDowell, of Greeley; two grandchildren, Abigail Rose McDowell and James Kendall McDowell IV; and her mother, June Doolittle, of Eureka, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Doolittle, and her husband, Kendall McDowell.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services were Feb. 6, 2010, at Grant Mortuary Chapel in Craig with pastor Buddy Baird officiating. Honorary pallbearers were “All Judy’s family and her many friends.”
