Rita May Gingrich was born April 30, 1947, to Margueritte L. and Roy R. Kirk. She had four brothers and one sister. She grew up in Scott City, Kan., until 1960, when her father passed away. The family moved to Hayden, where she met Danny D. Gingrich and married him on May 25, 1963. To this union came two children, Dana D. and Ronald T.
Her hobbies included arts and crafts, animals, singing and her beloved roses. She loved singing throughout the day no matter what she was doing. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Zack, Zed and Megan. They were her pride and joy, and she always made wonderful homemade gifts for them to cherish.
In November 2004, Danny and Rita moved to Craig, where her dream of having a big house came true.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Danny D. Gingrich; daughter Dana (John) Wheelock, of Hayden; son Ronald (Melody) Gingrich, of Craig; grandchildren Zack and Zed Wheelock and Megan Gringrich; brothers Richard (Wanda) Kirk, Melvin Kirk, Klifton (Doreen) Kirk, Gale (Pam) Kirk; and sister Aleece (Larry) Collamore and her many nieces and nephews.
