Ross Evans was born Feb. 17, 1929, in Hayden. He died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at his winter home in Arizona.
Ross was a wheat farmer, pilot and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He farmed wheat all his life, and even grew sunflowers one season. He loved all stages of farming.
He also took up flying and started the Craig Flying Service, which included spraying, charter and commercial work.
He served in the Marine Corps twice, once at the end of World War II, and once again when he was called back during the Korean war. He was very proud to be a Marine.
He and his wife, Audine, ran the Sears Catalog Store for 17 years. No matter what Ross was doing, and he was always busy, he loved spending time with his family and many friends. He also enjoyed his time in Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gil and Dorothy Evans; brother LeRoy Evans; daughter Susan Evans; and two great-grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Audine Evans; daughter Linda (Rick) Anderson, of Fort Collins; son Dell Evans, of Craig; grandchildren Katie, Brena, Sarah, Dan, Adam, Timberli and Amanda; eight great-grandchildren; and special friends Debbie and Bill Bertram.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
