LeeAnn Reece, a longtime Craig resident, died July 14, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver, following a brief illness. She was 58.
LeAnn was born Jan. 18, 1952, in Sterling, the daughter of Leon Henry and Betty Ann (Hamson) Hall. She spent her childhood in Craig.
LeeAnn married Joe Ed-
ward Reece on Jan. 21, 1968 in Craig. In the ensuing years, they became the parents of four children.
LeeAnn worked for the Moffat County School Dis-
trict as a custodian for many years. She enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, yard work and animals, including mules, donkeys and horses.
Her grandkids were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her husband, Joe, of Craig; daughter Annette (Brandon) Leas, of Sedro Woolley, Wash.; sons Ray (Shannon) Reece, of Vernal, Utah, Joe (Kim) Reece, Jr., of Sterling, and Roger Reece, of Las Vegas; grandchildren Coey, Victoria, Matthew, Kirsty, Joe III., Rachel, Allan, Jenilee, Olivia, Venessa and Diezel; great-grandchildren Bryleigh Elise and Emberlei Jesse; sisters Sharon Lee, also known as Margaret Ann (Donald) Kottschade, of Winona, Minn., Mary (Dave) Walters, of Craig, Catherine (Bob) Simons, also known as Catherine Anies, of LaPuente, Calif., Maxine Hall, of Craig, and Susan Mae (Curt) Dingman, of Vernal, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service was held July 22, 2010, at Grant Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Doug Zirkle officiating.
A special musical number entitled “I Cross My Heart” by George Strait was played. Pallbearers were Ray, Jim, Roger and Allen Reece, Joe Reece, Jr., Joe Reece III, Bryan Page and Clyde Sampson.
Interment followed in the Craig Cemetery.
