Glen James Tuchtenhagen, of Craig, died March 28, 2010, at Sandrock Ridge Care & Rehab Center. He was 87.
Glen was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Albion, Mich., the son of Albert and Carrie (Grosshans) Tuchtenhagen.
Glen and his family lived in Michigan until he was about 4 years old and at that time his mother moved to the Lodi and Stockton areas of California, where Glen attended school. Following high school, Glen joined the U.S. Navy.
After his discharge from the Navy, Glen returned to California, and on April 28, 1959, he married Maybell Hardin.
He worked in the shipyards and later became employed by the city of Stockton, where he worked in the sewer department for the next 35 years.
In 1955, Glen and his wife moved to Craig.
Glen enjoyed panning for gold, fishing and loved dogs.
He is survived by daughters Susan (Leroy) North, of Craig, and Ella Lorene (Ben) Moore, of Stockton, Calif.; grandchildren Rhonda Graff, William (Carie) North, Michelle (Scott) Wickersham, Benny Moore, Melody Moore, Misty Bennight, Cindy Bennight; great-grandchildren I’sha Melinn, Trenton, Justin and Gavin North, Beth Smith Foster, Ray Smith, A.J. and Sean Wickersham, and Alexis Aquilar; nephews James (Brenda) Ownby, and Tim (Jenny) Ownby; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Maybell, son John Bennight, sister Ruth Ownby, and two brothers, Omer and Ivan Tuchtenhagen.
Private interment services took place at the Craig Cemetery with Rod Compton and the officers of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4265 officiating.
