Dan Patrick "Paco" Martin died Sept. 16, 2009, at his home in Craig. He was 38.
Paco was born Dec. 2, 1970, in Craig, the son of Dan L. and Mari Sue (Jordan) Martin. He was raised and attended school in Craig and graduated from Moffat County High School in 1989. While in high school, Paco was on the track team and played football, for which he earned All-Conference honors. Following high school, Paco attended graphic design school in Denver.
Paco married Valarie Kamzalow on Aug. 10, 1996, in Craig and to this union two children were born. Paco worked as a carpenter in construction with his father's business. He enjoyed drawing, building things and hunting and fishing, but his number one enjoyment was being with his children.
Paco is survived by his daughter, Teigen, and his son, Evan, both of Craig; father Dan L. Martin, of Craig; sisters Tanya "Tammy" Foster and her husband, Randy, of Craig, and Judy Holton; niece Nicole Selman; nephews Joe and Tony Foster and Michael Holton; five great nieces and nephews, several aunts and uncles, and his former wife, Valarie.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mari Sue, and his grandparents.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services were Sept. 21, 2009 at The Faith Lutheran Church with Fr. John Turner officiating. The soloist was Dave Payton. Honorary Pallbearers were "All Paco's Family and His Many Friends." Interment of his cremains followed in the Craig Cemetery, where he was laid to rest next to his mother.
