Mildred 'Pearl' Rice

Mildred "Pearl" Rice, 84, of Julesburg, formerly of Arriba, died May 27, 2009, in Julesburg. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. July 18, 2009, at the Arriba Cemetery, Arriba.
Mildred Pearl was born March 2, 1925, to Robert Arbogast and Mabel (Grimm) Arbogast in Crowley. On Nov. 22, 1944, she married Cecil Rice in Sugar City, and the two were married for 34 years until Cecil's death. Mildred was a housewife and mother, as well as a bus driver for the Arriba School District. She was a member of the Christian Church, of Craig, and once you met her you would never forget her. Her hobbies and interests included embroidery, crocheting, bingo and fishing.
Pearl is survived by sons, Bobby Wright, Clint (Nadine) Rice, Carl (Laurie) Rice, Ken (Chris) Rice, Dave (Mary) Rice and Bud (Marla) Rice.
She also is survived by many nieces and nephews, 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mabel Arbogast; husband, Cecil Rice; daughter, Alice Rice; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Wright.
Memorials can be made to the Pearl Rice Memorial Fund in care of Dave Rice, 623 W. Sixth St., Julesburg, CO 80737 for the Sedgwick County Nursing Home and the Christian Church.
