Robert Eugene Molison

Robert Eugene Molison, of Craig, died April 7, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction.
He was 88.
Bob was born Sept. 15, 1920, in Grettinger, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Nettie (Miles) Molison. He was raised and attended school in Emmetsburg. Bob joined the United States Navy before he was finished with high school and served in World War II.
Bob married Helen Mary Mason in January 1948 in Marshalltown, Iowa.
They made their home in various places including Marshalltown and Emmetsburg, Iowa and then in Bemidji, Minn., where he owned a fishing resort.
Bob also worked in construction and the painting business. In 1974, the family moved to Craig, and Bob became the owner of Craig Sports.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding horses, doing his taxidermy work and being with his grandkids. He was a long-time member of the Moffat County Sheriff's Posse.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Molison, of Craig; sons David (Tamara) Molison of Phoenix, and Mark Molison, of Craig; daughter-in-law Crystal Molison, of Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren Tony (Stacy) Molison, Cindy Watrous, Sean Molison, Angie Molison, Michelle (David) Stoutenburgh, Jenny Rose Molison, Samantha Molison, Taylor Fredrickson and Jade Molison; and great-grandchildren Kaylie, Mekenzie, Chantelle, Daniel, Britney, Brendyn, Bret, Bryce, Braden, Colten and Emma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lois, wife Helen, a daughter Molly Ann and son Jim.
Funeral services were April 10, 2009, at The Grant Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Traber Cass officiating.
The musical selection was "Amazing Grace" by Stacey Mathers. Honorary pallbearers were Taylor Fredrickson, David Molison, Mark Molison, Tom Earle, David Stoutenburgh and Wickie Kay. Interment followed in the Craig Cemetery where he was laid to rest next to his wife, Helen.
