Curtis L. Durham, of Hamilton, died April 15, 2009, at his home. He was 49.
Curtis was born Aug. 26, 1959 in Craig, to Harry and Naomi (Osborn) Durham, Jr. He was raised on the family ranch near the Moffat-Rio Blanco counties line and attended school in Craig. He graduated in 1978 from Moffat County High School.
Curtis married Leslee Purcell on Aug. 1, 1981, in Craig, and to this union four children were born - Levi, Trent, Rex and Kaylee.
Curtis was a heavy equipment operator, rancher and most recently had been working as a foreman in the oil fields. He enjoyed his work and being with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his, wife Leslee, of Hamilton; daughter Kaylee, of Hamilton; sons Levi (Jill) Durham, of Craig, Trent and Rex Durham, of Hamilton; grandchildren Clay and Logan; mother Naomi Durham, of Craig; sisters Phyllis (Don) Myers, of Hamilton, Lois (Frank) Sampson, of Meeker, and Evelyn (Richard) Ott, of Craig; and his mother and father-in-law, Jim and Carol Purcell, of Vale, Ore.
A funeral was April 21, 2009, at the Craig Christian Church with Mervin Johnson officiating.
Wanda Brown was the soloist and sang "Finally Home." Pallbearers were Levi, Trent and Rex Durham and Lee, Wyatt and Clint Sampson. Interment followed in the Craig Cemetery.
