A private memorial service for Edna B. Lawton, 93, will take place at a later date.
She died Aug. 29, 2008, at Shepherd of the Valley nursing home in Casper, Wyo.
Lawton was born Dec. 28, 1914, in Craig, to Sarah Eva McDonald and Oliver Washington Haughey. She was raised and educated in the early Craig school systems. She was the youngest of four children.
She married Chester O. Lawton on Jan. 21, 1933, and lived her younger years in Craig.
Later, the family moved to Worland, where her husband worked in the oil fields. She was the mother of 10 children, all still living.
In the late 1960s, she moved to the Tacoma, Wash., area and lived in the surrounding communities until health forced her to need assistance.
She spent several winters in California, Arizona and later Salt Lake City, where she suffered a stroke and was a resident of a care home there.
She was transferred to Paradise Valley Care Center in Casper, Wyo., to be closer to family.
She enjoyed being a lifelong member of the Assembly of God Church, wherever she lived.
Her children are: Lanay Bingham-Shippert and husband, of Glenrock, Wyo., Fay Reid and husband, of Sun City, Ariz., Arnold Lawton, of Los Altos, Calif., Calvin Lawton and wife, of Glenrock, Wyo., Delbert Lawton and wife, of Mount Vernon, Wash., Arthur L. Lawton, of Tacoma, Wash., Merele Lawton, of Tuscon, Ariz., Wayne Lawton and wife Linda, of Worland, Wyo., Lawrence Lee Lawton and wife, of Upland, Calif., Keith Lawton and wife, of Alta Loma, Calif.
She also is survived by 27 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister, husband, two daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, a grandson and a granddaughter.
The Newcomer Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
