John P. Wolschon died March 13, 2008, at The Memorial Hospital in Craig following a brief illness. He was 49.
John Paul Wolschon was born on Sept. 2, 1958, in Denver, the son of James and Lydia (Rice) Wolschon. John spent his childhood in Craig and Fountain, where he graduated from high school.
John served 13 years in the National Guard Co C 140th Signal Battalion out of Craig. He worked in various jobs during his life including that of a laborer for a concrete company, as an electrician with Burrows Electric and in later years as a cook at Wallie's, the Tin Cup and Golden Cavvy Restaurants.
John was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the APA pool league and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and cooking.
John is survived by his companion of more than 20 years, Viola Thompson, of Craig; daughter, Michelle Williams, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; sisters Nona Stone, of Somerset, Ken.; Christine Trask, of Penrose; Mary Lou Priest, of Chula Vista, Calif.; brothers, Stanley Wolschon, of Somerset, Ken.; Larry Nollenberger, of Craig.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Bonnie.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services were March 18, 2008, at The Grant Mortuary in Craig with Pastor Tony Bohrer officiating.
