John E. Singer 1933 - 2008

John E. Singer, formerly of Craig, died March 10, 2008. He was 75.
Mr. Singer was born Feb. 9, 1933 in La Junta to John “Burt” and Esther (Ogden) Singer. He was a heavy equipment operator employed with Trapper Mine and a rancher.
He moved to Oakley, Kan., in 2003 from Craig. He was a member of the Oakley Christian Church, International Union of Operating Engineers, American Quarter Horse Association and the American Tarentaise Association.
Survivors include his wife, Connie (Thrasher) Singer, of Oakley, Kan.; stepdaughters Lori Mraz, of Cedar Park, Texas, and Angela Ashida, of Swink, and four grandchildren.
A funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Oakley Christian Church. Visitation is 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place in the Monument Cemetery.
