Inez R. Beers

1914 - January 23, 2008

Longtime Craig resident Inez R. Beers died Jan. 23, 2008, at the Sandrock Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was 93 years old.
Inez R. Bertoldi was born on April 22, 1914, in Superior, Wyo., the daughter of Luigi and Maria (Zampedri) Bertoldi. She was raised and attended school in the West Weber - Ogden, Utah area.
Inez was living in Montello, Nev., in the early 1940s when she met and later married Jack Travers.
They moved to Craig in the late 1940s. Jack died in 1955. Inez married James E. Beers on Dec. 23, 1957, in Greeley.
They made their home in Craig and Inez was a homemaker, worked as a teller/bookkeeper for First Federal Savings and Loan for many years and was involved with her husband, Jim, in operating Midway Distributing Company.
Inez enjoyed playing golf and bridge, camping, fishing, politics and traveling.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, its Altar and Rosary Society, the Moffat County Republican Central Committee at one time and the Ladies Golf Association.
Inez is survived by her nephew, Ray L. (Liz) Bertoldi, of Layton, Utah; and his children, Ray J. (Lisa) Bertoldi, of Eden, Utah; Cassi (Frank) Lasusa, of Layton, Utah; Chris (Jennifer) Bertoldi, of Layton, Utah; Danielle Bertoldi of Ogden, Utah; five great-great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Alba Bertoldi, of Ogden, Utah; and a cousin, Lily Boyer, of Elko, Nev.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luigi and Maria Bertoldi, brothers Ray A. and Larry Bertoldi, and her husband, James E. Beers.
A Rosary was recited Jan. 28, 2008, at St. Michael Church and Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at the church with Fr. Randy Dollins officiating.
Julia Foster accompanied soloist Celeste Sanchez, who sang a special musical number "Ave Maria." Pallbearers were Chris Bertoldi, Ray J. Bertoldi, Pete Pleasant, Greg Hamilton, Bill Lawrence and Chuck Cobb.
Interment followed in the Craig Cemetery.
