James A. Jensen died Feb. 20, 2008, at The Memorial Hospital in Craig, following a lengthy illness. He was 55.
Jim was born May 28, 1952, in Craig, the son of Alvin T. and Sarahelen "Sally" (Doyle) Jensen. Jim grew up on the family ranch north of Craig and attended school in Craig, graduating from Moffat County High School in 1970.
Following high school, Jim served in the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, Jim married Stacy Proski on Feb. 29, 1970, in Houston, and they became the parents of a son, Jeremy. They were divorced in 1973.
Jim married Robin Durdick on Jan. 1, 1975, in Craig, and they have resided in Craig since that time except for four years in Grand Junction.
Jim was an accomplished mechanic working on automobiles and later on recreational vehicles such as snowmobiles, ATVs, motorcycles and watercraft. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, doing oil paints, gardening, hunting, doing gunsmith work and recently had been setting up an ammunition display.
Jim is survived by his wife, Robin Jensen of Craig; son Jeremy Jensen of Grand Junction; brother Alfred J. Jensen of Craig; and mother-in-law Betty Durdick of Delta.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his father in law Robert Durdick.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Craig American Legion Hall.
