Ray J. Price was born on June 23, 1930, to Ray and Elsie (Baldwin) Price in Miami, Okla.
He was raised and attended school in Miami. In 1949, Ray married Leota Gamble and became the father of six children; Ray and Leota later divorced.
Before moving to Craig, Ray lived in Buena Vista, Oak Creek and Yampa.
In 1986, Ray met Dena Fisher-Williams, and they were married Feb. 19, 1988, in Craig.
Ray worked many years for B F Goodrich Tire Company in Oklahoma and later became a heavy equipment mechanic in the coal mines of Colorado.
In his off time, he enjoyed many outdoor activities including fishing, hunting and trapping.
He is survived by his wife Dena Price of Craig; daughters, Sherry and her husband, John Marable, of Chelsey, Okla., and Leota Ann and her husband, Rocky Burnett, on Blue Jacket, Okla.; sons, Earl Ray and his wife, Joyce Price, of Welch, Okla., Dennis and his wife, Marie Price, of Elko, Nev., and Daryl Price of Parachute; stepdaughters, Sharla and her husband, David Satterwhite, of Craig, Vanda and her husband, Jim Pfeffer, of Ignacio; 14 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Raenell and step-grandson Jake Satterwhite.
Cremation has taken place, and memorial graveside services are at 11 a.m. March 21, 2008, at the Craig Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Grant Mortuary.
