Edna R. Mihelish, mother of Craig resident Edna Thomas, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at the Sandrock Ridge Care and Rehab Center following a brief illness. She was 95.
Edna was born Nov. 28, 1912, in Annis, Idaho, the daughter of Charles and Phoebe (Rose) Clark. She was raised and attended school in Idaho.
Edna married Joseph Mihelish on Sept. 3, 1929, in Butte, Mont. They resided in Butte and Lima, Mont., and in Basalt, Idaho.
Her husband died in November 2001. Edna moved to Craig three years ago to be near her daughter.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting and other types of handiwork. She was very fond of her dog, Taurus, who was her constant companion.
She is survived by her daughter, Edna Thomas, of Craig; her son, Phillip Mihelish, and wife, Kathy, of Firth, Idaho; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers and her daughters, Genevive Rockwell and June Roy.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services were Aug. 9, 2008, at St. Michael Catholic Church with Fr. James Fox officiating.
Graveside services were Tuesday at the Lima Cemetery in Lima, Mont.
