Flona Iris Loper 1915 - 2008

Flona Iris Loper, the daughter of Elmer Claude Collins and Bertha Olive Gentry, was born June 20, 1915, in Okemah, Okla.
She died April 6, 2008, in Citrus Heights, Calif., at age 92.
For 58 years, she was the wife of Farrest Loper, who preceded her in death in 1995. Their residence in Moffat County began in the early 1940s when they helped found the town of Artesia (now called Dinosaur). They moved to Riverton, Wyo., in 1949 and later returned to Moffat County from there.
Iris and her husband Farrest retired to Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1978 from 25 years of ranching in Moffat County. They were active in the Baptist Church in Craig and enjoyed many friends in the Craig area. Iris moved to California to be near her sons.
She is survived by a sister, Helen Taylor, of Shawnee, Okla.; her two sons Farrest G. Loper and his wife Dixie and Phillip Loper and his wife Sally; grandchildren Michael, Timothy, Christine, Kimberly and Karen; great-grandchildren Cory, Spencer, Samantha, Nicholas, Sarah and Maya; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are at 9:30 a.m. April 14 at the Green Acres Chapel at 401 North Hayden Road in Scottsdale with a graveside service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 309, Mountain View, CA 04042.
