Laurence "Larry" John Bishop, 57, died Sept. 27, 2009, in Aurora of natural causes.
He was born July 5, 1952, in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of Richard B. and Ruby Mae Bishop. He attended schools in Rochester, N.Y.
On April 18, 1981, he married Martha J. VanAken.
Larry was the owner/operator of Rocky Mountain Ranches Outfitters in Hayden.
In 2008, he received the Colorado Outfitters Lifetime Members Award. In 2007, he received the organization's President's Award, and a year before, he was named Outfitter of the Year.
He is survived by his mother, Ruby Bishop; wife Martha; son Laurence J. Bishop, II; daughters Kimberly Y. Bishop, Deborah Fleming and Carrie Forster; sister Carla Bishop; and four grandchildren.
Private services have taken place.
