Wellness Tip: Flaxseeds offer healthy boost
January 24, 2015
Flaxseeds are becoming a well-known super seed that pack a big punch of health benefits. Flaxseeds are an excellent source of fiber, soluble and insoluble, which assist in lowering cholesterol levels. Flaxseeds are a good source of Omega- 3 fatty acids and are rich in antioxidants. All of these properties make it an excellent disease fighting super food. It is important to drink lots of fluid while eating flax. Whole flax seed will sail right through you so it is wise to grind it into a meal and add it to smoothies, yogurt, cottage cheese or any favorite food.
