Water leak in downtown Craig creates minor traffic, hole in ground

City of Craig water technicians work to repair a water valve leak on a water main at the corner of Yampa Avenue and Victory Way downtown.

The work crew started early and finished construction later in the afternoon.

"We just don't know yet if it's a bolt that's gone or just a seal" that caused the leak, said Tim Kulp, a water technician for the city. "We're hoping to just repair the valve."

The city found out about the leak because a small puddle of water was present over the valve on the street prior to digging up the corner.
