The Craig Telehealth Clinic is offering another service to our Veterans. It is called “Tele-Spiritual” with a pastor via the Denver VAMC.

If anyone has an interest, please contact the Craig clinic to schedule an appointment at 970-824-6721. There will be brochures out in the near future.

In October, the Social Security Administration announced that it would increase SSA benefits by 1.7 percent based on an increase in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers for the third quarter of 2012.

The Department of Veterans Affairs processed VA’s 2012 on Nov. 17 and 18, 2012. Consistent with SSA’s COLA (cost-of-living adjustment,) VA Pension and Parents’ DIC (dependency and Indemnity compensation) beneficiaries will receive a 1.7 percent increase effective December 1, 2012.

I have a copy of all the rate tables in my office if anyone is interested.

Also, the standard Medicare deduction effective Dec. 1, 2012 is $104.90

On another note, the yearly meeting of the “Apathy Club” has been cancelled due to lack of interest.

Remember that next Tuesday, Jan. 15 is the monthly meeting of the American Legion. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. and coffee, juice and pastries are served.

The monthly meeting of the VFW will be on the following Monday, Jan. 21.

Both meetings are consistent by being on the third Monday and third Tuesday of every month.

Please try to attend one or both meetings if you are a member. Both organizations do a lot for the community and by attending the meetings, you are supporting your organization.
