For the fourth holiday season, the Tree of Life fund raising program is being organized.
The tree’s ornaments can be bought and named in honor of a family, family member, an inspirational person, a special accomplishment, or a loved one for a gift of $25 or more to the Community Foundation of Northwest Colorado.
For the first three years, the Tree of Life was placed in the Museum of Northwest Colorado. This year, it will be located in the Moffat County Library in Craig at 570 Green St. In the following years, the tree will appear in a different location each holiday season.
The Tree of Life has been on display at the library for one week, and will continue to be on display through Jan. 1. Forms for dedicating an ornament are located right next to the tree in the front of the library. Anyone interested in donating to the Foundation and dedicating an ornament can do so through Dec. 25.
“This is a really neat holiday tradition,” said Gail Severson, president of the Foundation. “The money will go the Foundation, and we’re hoping to put some of the proceeds towards the Gunfighter Collection.”
The final designations for the funds will be organized at the Foundation’s January meeting.
Ornaments purchased in earlier years can be re-hung on the tree with this year’s date added for a gift of $15. All donors will receive an acknowledgment gift card that will include the ornament’s dedication. Both the $25 gift and the $15 gift are tax deductible.
