Dennis Michael Demara, 47, on Friday pleaded guilty to attempting to sexually assault a child and tampering with physical evidence.

As part of a plea deal, the charges of felony sexual exploitation of a child and misdemeanor theft were dismissed.

Demara was originally arrested in November 2014 on suspicion of charges related to child pornography. A victim later came forward, and additional charges were filed this year.

According to the man's arrest warrant, he admitted to "possessing and viewing sexually explicit material exploiting juveniles."

A person close to Demara reported to police seeing child pornography on two hard drives Demara eventually destroyed, according to the warrant. It goes on to state that Demara "wrote about 'enacting horrible acts' on boys but then adamantly denied there are any victims of his crimes."

According to another arrest warrant, the victim reported the attempted sexual assault happened at Demara's home.

Demara is scheduled to be formally sentenced at 1 p.m. March 15. The plea agreement calls for Demara to spend two years in prison and be on intensive supervised probation.
