Sports briefs: Parks and Rec baseball tournament begins today

The Craig Parks and Recreation season-ending, single-elimination baseball tournament will begin at 5:30 p.m. today.
The 8- to 10-year-old teams will play either at 5:30 p.m. at Woodbury Sports Complex, 350 S. Mack Lane, or 6 p.m. at Loudy-Simpson Park, 500 S. Ranney St.

Course offers free golf for juniors, beginners
On Mondays through Thursdays, there will be free golf for junior golfers and beginners younger than 18 years old at Yampa Valley Golf Course.
From 7 to 10 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, young golfers can hit the links on holes seven, eight and nine.
From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, golfers can take their swings on a par-3 hole on the driving range.
There will be no supervision available, so parents are urged to be with younger children.

Story ideas range from features about generations of hunters to new equipment that is changing the world of hunting, and anything in between. Photos need to be at least 300 dpi and clear for publication. The Daily Press would need digital .jpg files.
