Sports Briefs: MCHS basketball teams play Glenwood on Friday

The Moffat County High School girls varsity basketball team will start the weekend slate of games with a 6 p.m. match-up Friday against the Glenwood Springs Demons in Glenwood.
The Bulldogs and Demons played Jan. 22. Moffat County won, 51-36, at home.
The Moffat County girls team (9-10 overall, 7-3 in the Western Slope League) is coming off a weekend sweep of Delta and Palisade at home. The Bulldogs are in third place in the league.
The Demons (10-8, 6-4 in the WSL) are currently fourth in the league.
At 7:30 p.m., the Moffat County boys team will play first-place Glenwood.
The MCHS boys (4-15 overall, 2-8 in the WSL) defeated Palisade, 72-52, on Feb. 6 for their second league win.

In the previous match-up between Moffat County and Glenwood (14-5, 10-0), the Demons were able to hang on to win, 80-73, on Jan. 22 at Moffat County.
On Saturday, the girls and boys teams will return to Moffat County for a rematch with Rifle.
The first-place Bears (14-4 overall, 10-0 in WSL play) topped Moffat County's girls squad Jan. 30.
At 4 p.m., the girls will tip off, with the boys team to follow at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday's games will be played at MCHS, 900 Finley Lane.
Basketball officials needed for games
Craig Parks and Recreation is looking for officials for kindergarten through second-grade basketball games.
Officials must be 14 and older, and the deadline to register is Feb. 12. For more information, call Parks and Recreation at 826-2004.
Coed volleyball to be offered this spring
Craig Parks and Recreation will be offering spring coed volleyball. Registration began Feb. 3. There will be two leagues offered — competitive and semi-competitive.
Competitive teams will play Mondays, and semi-competitive teams will play Tuesdays or Thursdays.
There is a $125 fee for teams or $10 per individual.
