Sports briefs: CMS Bulldogs on the move this weekend

The Craig Middle School football and volleyball teams will be on the road this Saturday, as both play in Meeker against the Cowboys.
The boys eighth-grade football team will play at 9 a.m. in Meeker, with the seventh-grade football team following afterwards.
The eighth-grade volleyball team will also play at 9 a.m. with the seventh-graders following.
All the sports teams will return home for their 5 p.m. Sept. 21 match-ups against Soroco at CMS, 915 Yampa Ave.

Yahoo Golf Tournament scheduled for Saturday
The 11th annual Yahoo Golf Tournament and Ball Drop will be 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Yampa Valley Golf Course, 2179 Highway 394.
More than 3,000 golf balls will be dropped from a plane for prizes. The Boys & Girls Club of Craig is the beneficiary of the fundraiser this year.
Tickets for the ball drop can be purchased at the Boys & Girls Club, 1324 E. Highway 40, or the golf course.

Any Moffat County High School student wanting to attend an MCHS sporting event for free needs to have their book fees paid, according to a news release from the school.
Middle school and elementary school students, and students who have not paid their book fees, can get into MCHS football and volleyball games for $4 this fall.

CNCC soccer's first game is Sunday
The Colorado Northwestern Community College Craig campus soccer team will have its first game at 2 p.m. Sunday at the CNCC Rangely campus.
This is the first year for the CNCC Craig soccer team.
Team practices will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at Sawer Soccer Park on First Street.
