Sports briefs: Area hockey starts at Moffat County Ice Arena

Starting at 6 p.m. tonight, hockey returns to the Moffat County Ice Arena.
The Bulldogs hockey team will have its silver vs. blue scrimmage at 6 p.m. today.
At 11:15 a.m. Saturday, the Craig Cougar Bantams will face Grand Valley.
At 4:30 p.m., the Grand Valley bantams team will face Gunnison, and at 9:30 p.m., the Craig bantams will face Gunnison.
At 6:15 p.m., the Bulldogs junior varsity squad will
face off against Laramie (Wyo.), and at 7:45 p.m., the Craig Puck Ewes will take

At 6:15 a.m. Sunday, the Bulldogs JV team gets an early start against Laramie.
The Cougar bantams also will have a full schedule, starting at 7:45 a.m. against Grand Valley and continuing at 11:15 a.m. against Gunnison.
All games are played at the Moffat County Ice Arena, 600 S. Ranney St.
The teams also are looking for girls between the ages of 5 and 18 to play hockey.

Midnight Madness is at 7:30 p.m. today at MCHS
Moffat County High School Bulldog basketball will kick off at 7:30 p.m. with the first annual Midnight Madness.
There will be a spaghetti dinner at 6 p.m. at the high school for $5 per person.
At 7:30 p.m., the boys and girls basketball teams will face off in scrimmages, three-point shooting contests, alumni shooting contests and audience shooting competitions.
Midnight Madness is free, but canned food donations for Love INC are encouraged.

Pickup basketball offered at Parks and Rec
Craig Parks and Recreation is offering pickup basketball games for men 15 years of age and older.
The gym will be open from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from Nov. 17 to Jan. 28 at Craig Middle School, 915 Yampa Ave.
The cost is $2, with punch passes available at Craig Parks and Recreation.
No pre-registration is required, and individual passes can be purchased at the door.
