Sports briefs: 6 Bad Dogs claim 1st place in Grand Junction

Wrestling during Saturday’s Little Warrior Tournament in Grand Junction, the Craig Bad Dogs youth wrestling team was able to claim six first-place medals.

John Quintana, Kaden Hixson, Elias Peroulis, Matt Moschetti, Mikinzie Klimper and Mikey Bingham brought home first-place finishes, and TJ Shelton, Daniel Harding and Colton Hall took second-place medals.

John T. Peroulis, Ethan Powers, Greg Hixon and Daniel Caddy finished third, and Jesus Duarte and Devon Pontine finished fourth.



The Bad Dogs will resume wrestling March 19 during the Rocky Mountain Nationals.

CMS wrestling in Soroco this weekend

The Craig Middle School wrestling team will compete at 9 a.m. Saturday in Soroco.



The Bulldogs finished third overall Saturday in Hayden, behind only Meeker and the home Tigers.

The team’s next scheduled tournament after Soroco is March 20 in Meeker, and March 27 in Steamboat Springs.
