Senior Spotlight: Mary Jo Brown
July 19, 2004
The hum of the bus wheels on the pavement; murmurs — people talking; breeze gently blowing on my face, the beauty of the scenery as we go on down the road, but most of all, the feeling of just relaxing — yeah.
I doze off — but not for long. We reach Sleepy Cat and voices get louder and it’s time to do something different.
The annual Senior Sleepy Cat trip was really nice, everyone had an enjoyable time. The hummingbirds were there, flowers galore. The weather was even just right. Speaking of just right, I believe now is the right time for me to go on vacation.
I’ll be gone all next week. But there will be an AARP meeting on Monday at 2 p.m., Sunset Meadows I, and this week, on Wednesday, is the McDonald’s senior breakfast.
We had two wedding anniversaries on July 15: Don and Ruth Seick, 59 years; and Wayne and Alvinia Seick, 43 years.
