Rosemary Crosthwaite: Festival ‘a success’

To the editor:

On behalf of the Moffat County Early Childhood Coalition, I would like to thank all the people responsible for making the Children's Festival a success this year.

It is wonderful that so many people are willing to give their time and energy to making a fun time for the community's children.

For many of these volunteers, there were also hours of planning and/or preparation that went into getting ready for the event.

The following organizations provided an activity for children to enjoy: Moffat County Libraries, Advocates-Crisis Support Services, New Creation Church, Humane Society of Moffat County, Calvary Baptist School, Colorado State Patrol and Craig Police Department, Thunder Rolls Bowling Center, Substance Abuse Prevention Program, and Lifetime Photography.

Also involved were Early Childhood Coalition members, Eagles Nest Preschool, Sunrise, Kids, LLC, Moffat County School District Early Childhood Program, Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association, Horizons and Walmart.

Special thanks to Slade Gurr and the Moffat County United Way who generously funded our publicity for the festival, the Blue Ribbon Campaign to bringing attention to the prevention of child abuse, and our recognition of childcare providers.

Special thanks also to Connections for Kids, which provided the coalition with cardboard dolls for children from local preschools to decorate for the festival.

I hope I haven't missed anyone and just in case, I would like to say thank you again to everyone who helped make this event a success.
