Q&A: Are you excited for back-to-school?
August 27, 2010
The Moffat County School District resumes classes Monday, and teachers were busy this week preparing their classrooms and attending meetings.
Students were busy gathering last-minute school supplies and enjoying the sunshine before heading back to school.
The Craig Daily Press asked a handful of these teachers and students: Are you excited for back-to-school?
Here's what they had to say.
"Kinda. I don't like classes … Why I am (excited) is to hang out with my friends."
— Jeremy Bell, eighth-grader at Craig Middle School
"Yes because you get to meet new friends, and there's going to be new kids. And we get new teachers this year, so I get to meet them."
— Danaka Bradshaw, fifth-grader at Sandrock Elementary School
“Yes. My sister is going to be riding the bus with me — she's going to be in kindergarten. I get to see old friends and get to meet new friends."
— Savannah Duran, fifth-grader at Sandrock Elementary School
"Yes I am. … I'm just excited to be back to school because I'm excited to be back with the kids and my colleagues, and I just enjoy myself here."
— Deb Roberts, English, history and reading teacher at Moffat County High School
"Yes, because I really like school because I get to chase boys and I get to play with my friend Gabby."
— Mackenzie Schneider-Ott, second-grader at Sandrock Elementary School
"Yes and no. I'm excited because it's my last year, but I'm not excited because now I have to grow up."
— Kelley Syvertson, senior at Moffat County High School
