Providing Craig with the creature comforts: Readers select Furniture Gallery of Craig as best store
June 24, 2011
As you enter the doors of Furniture Gallery of Craig, you can expect to be greeted with some easy listening Muzak and a serene forest décor.
You can plop down in a sofa or curl up on one of the store's mattresses.
And, if one of the staff members hasn't approached you yet, they'll be more than ready once you're prepared to start checking prices on the furnishings you need in your home.
The cozy atmosphere and attentive nature of the staff helped get Furniture Gallery, 385 Ranney St., voted best furniture store in the Craig Daily Press' 2011 Best of Moffat County contest.
"I think what stands out for people now is we have a very nice look that gives people an idea of how things look together," manager Rodney Klimper said. "We're not necessarily the biggest showroom, but it's the variety of the selection."
Klimper said he tries to match each customer with the best value within their budget.
"All furniture stores try to sell, but we try to push more of the customer service and inform customers," he said. "We try to make it as you would deal with a friend."
The store's staff is small, consisting only of Klimper and owners Steve and Patricia Bell. The team has been in the Ranney Street location for four years.
Steve said he was "proud and honored" to receive the award.
"We want to continue providing high-quality service to people because we would never sell anything that we wouldn't be proud to have in our own homes," he said.
