Earl Ross Elarton

1915-2001

Earl Ross Elarton of Craig died Friday, June 29, 2001, at Veterans Nursing Home in Rifle. He was 86.

On May 5, 1915, in Argonia, Kan., he was born the son of Harry Elarton and Pearl Wiley. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corp veteran. He worked as an electrician at the Air Force Academy. He also worked as a mechanic.

Elarton married Virginia Mengers Elarton. He lived in Missouri and Colorado Springs, and Craig for nine years.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Wayne Sweetser of Hayden and John Sweetser of Craig; daughter, Sheila Scott of Colorado Springs, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

At his request, no services will be held.
