Memorial services for Carol Jardon of Craig will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Grant Mortuary.

Edith “Toots” Long

Edith “Toots” Long of Oak Creek died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at her home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at the South Routt Bible Church in Oak Creek. Interment will follow in the Oak Creek Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association or the Boy Scouts in care of Grant Mortuary.

Icie Leola Earle of Craig, died Nov. 14, 2000, at Valley View Manor in Craig. She was 83.

On July 1, 1917, in Durham, Okla., she was born the daughter of Dennis and Georgia (Lewis) Cockrell. She grew up and attended school in Oklahoma.

On Nov. 2, 1939, in Reydon, Okla., she married Wilton Earle. She and her family moved to Craig 25 years ago.

She is survived by sons, Leon (Rosemary) Earl of Craig, Raymond (Genie) Earle of Craig, Dennis (Glenda) Earle of Tulsa, Okla., and Harold (Loretta) Earle of Craig; nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a twin sister.

Services were held Nov. 18, 2000, at Grant Mortuary Chapel officiated by Bill Peterson. Musical selection was “I’ll Fly Away.”

Pallbearers were Rich King, Clint Earle, Matt Davis, Shane Earle, Larry Kunkle and Scott Bivins.

Burial was at the Craig Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the 4-H Foundation in care of Grant Mortuary.

Leola “Lea” Jones


Leola Jones of Craig died Nov. 21, 2000, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins. She was 70.

On Jan. 6, 1930, in Unice, La., she was born the daughter of Savin Deshotel and Eladie “Mott” Deshotel.

On March 15, 1947, in Sulphur, La., she married Jimmie L. Jones. She was a child care provider and lived in Craig for 26 years.

She is survived by sons, Jim Jones of Craig, Robert Jones of Palisade and Reggie Jones of Craig; daughters, Linda Miller-Freeman of Chappell, Neb., Brenda Sjogren of Rifle, Pricilla Tuffield of Littleton, Cathy Koeltzow of Wheatridge; brothers, Claude Deshotel of Welsh, La. and Vernon Deshotel of Lake Charles, La.; sisters, Gladys Fontenot of Kinder, La.; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Eldria Steward.

Services were held Nov. 25, 2000, at Grant Mortuary officiated by Gay Albers. A reading was by Scott Tuffield and soloist was Charity Sjogren.
