— The Hayden Town Council is scheduled to consider tonight whether to approve a liquor license transfer and temporary liquor license for Hayden's newest restaurant.

Ann Marie Roberts and her husband, Pat, are the newest owners of the restaurant that is currently Creek View Grill in western Hayden. The Craig couple will start cleaning, painting and rearranging the interior of the restaurant Monday, Ann Marie Roberts said.

She said they hope to open Double Barrel Steakhouse on April 8. Until then, Roberts said the restaurant would be closed.

If approved, the liquor license will be transferred from Creek View's current operator, EPIC's Inc., and take effect April 1.

The temporary permit would allow Double Barrel to serve alcohol while the Colorado Department of Revenue reviews the transfer.

Roberts, a lifelong Craig resident, said her husband, a trained chef, has always wanted to own a restaurant. She said things fell into place at the Creek View site, where they will lease the building from Dry Creek Subdivision LLC.

The Robertses looked in Craig for a restaurant to buy, but nothing was available, Ann Marie Roberts said. After spending time in Hayden watching her brother, Eric Hamilton, coach the Hayden High School girls basketball team, Roberts said her family got to know the community and the Creek View site became "a perfect fit."

"This has been a lifetime dream for my husband," she said. "He's more than excited. I think it's going to open up some jobs, give people some opportunity and a nice place to eat with their families."

Roberts said the steakhouse will be family-oriented, with an extensive children's menu, and will have specials during the summer.

Council members also will consider approving the second reading of the nuisance ordinance that would allow the town to impose fines on residents who violate sections of Hayden Municipal Code relating to garbage and refuse, weeds and brush, and alarm systems.

In a separate action item, the Town Council is slated to decide whether to approve the 2010 fee schedule revision. The meeting is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at Hayden Town Hall. The regular session is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
