More peaceful in city than Craig
April 30, 2001
To the Editor;
I just spent a pleasant week visiting my daughter in Las Vegas, where none of the full-time residents I met gambled. However, gambling is not the subject of this letter, rather it is peace and quiet. My daughter lives in a middle-income apartment complex. It was so wonderful to sit on her deck in the afternoon and not listen to barking dogs or loud music. The blissful sleep was possible with windows open because of the same quietness, a sign of respect for others peace. Craig is a friendly, small town, but also a very noisy one. Your music, your barking dogs infringe on everyones’ right to quiet. It seems so odd to me that city living is quieter than small town living.
