The American Legion Post 62 baseball team, a team of Moffat County High School players, will have a big end to its summer.
The team is scheduled to host the July 29 to Aug. 1 American Legion state tournament this summer.
The top four teams from the Front Range and Western Slope will play at Craig Middle School, 915 Yampa Ave.
Manager Justin Folley said hosting the game would bring attention to Western Slope teams.
"It's good for our program," Folley said. "We feel like we have a field worthy enough of the state tournament, and we're going to work hard to keep it that way."
The American Legion team will play its first games of the summer season at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. today at CMS against Rangely.
