Local Craig and Moffat County scholarships

Craig Kiwanis Club

Amount: $500



Deadline: 3 p.m. March 26

Craig Kiwanis Club offers the Stanley G. Slaugh Memorial Scholarships to Moffat County High School graduates or graduating seniors who demonstrate leadership qualities, community involvement, academic achievement and financial need. Applicants may also include MCHS students who, for a valid reason, did not graduate. The applicant must be accepted and enrolled in an accredited university, college, business school or vocational school, and must be a Moffat County resident along with at least one of applicant’s parents. At least one $500 or more scholarship will be awarded as a Key Club Scholarship to a member of the MCHS Key Club. Applications may be turned into Paula Duzik at MCHS.



Sarah Fleming Memorial Scholarship

Amount: $2,000

Deadline: 3 p.m. March 26

Administered by the Craig Kiwanis Club, the Sarah Fleming Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a Moffat County High School senior who is planning to attend an accredited college, university, trade school or vocational-technical institution. Applicants will be evaluated based not only on academic performance but also participation in school, extracurricular and community activities. To be eligible, candidates must have participated in one of the following programs: Little Britches or High School Rodeo, 4-H, Future Farmers of America or cheerleading. The ideal scholarship recipient will have an interest in pursuing a career in early childhood development, although it is not a requirement. The Memorial Hospital Auxiliary

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: March 31

The Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will provide a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating or graduated Moffat County High School senior who wishes to enter into Colorado Northwestern Community College’s nursing program. Applicants must have fulfilled or begun to fulfill the requirements to enter the nursing program. To learn more or pick up an application, see Paula Duzik at MCHS or the front desk at TMH.

The Craig Association of Realtors

Amount: $500

Deadline: April 1

The Craig Association of Realtors will be awarding two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors of Moffat County High School. The applications should be turned into Paula Duzik, emailed to dorinaf91@yahoo.com, or they can be hand delivered to Dorina Fredrickson at Country Living Realty, 304 W. Victory Way in Craig.

Northwest Colorado Chapter of Parrot Heads

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: April 10

Northwest Colorado Chapter of Parrot Heads is offering two or more scholarships to seniors who have demonstrated outstanding participation in musical studies, environmental studies or volunteer work or community activism. See Paula Duzik for an application.

Craig Rotary Club

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: April 15

Craig Rotary Club is offering two $1,000 scholarships to seniors who intend to enroll in a two-year, four-year, or vocational/trade school program upon graduation. The club is looking for applicants who not only take academics seriously, but are also active community participants through community service and volunteer work. Applicants should also be actively involved in Moffat County High School extracurricular activities, whether through participation in club sports or other avenues of service. Northwest Colorado Snowmobile Club

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: April 15

The Northwest Colorado Snowmobile Club is offering three $1000.00 scholarships for graduating Moffat County High School seniors. Applications are available at the Moffat County High School guidance office and can be turned into Paula Duzik.

First Soil Conservation District

Amount: Varies

Deadline: April 15

The First Soil Conservation District is offering several scholarships to seniors graduating from Moffat County High School pursuing a degree in the area of agricultural related studies. See Paula Duzik for an application.

Cory Pike Memorial Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: April 24

The Family of Cory Pike is offering the Cory Pike Memorial Scholarship to two seniors who have actively participated in two or more sports or extracurricular activities. See Paula Duzik for an application.

Colorado scholarships

Colorado Young Farmers

Amount: $500

Deadline: March 15

Colorado Young Farmers is offering two $500 scholarships to seniors interested in an agriculture-related field and attending post-secondary education in Colorado. Log on to http://www.coloradoyoungfarmers.com for an application.

Colorado Garden Foundation

Amount: Four year, full ride scholarship

Deadline: March 15

Colorado Garden Foundation is offering a four-year full-ride scholarship to graduating seniors who are pursuing post secondary education in an agriculture or horticulture field. Download application information from http://coloradogardenfoundation.org/scholarships.

Colorado Association of Legal Support Staff

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: April 15

The Colorado Association of Legal Support Staff is offering the $1,000 Gwendolyn S. Duran Memorial Scholarship to seniors who will be pursuing a degree in the legal field. Visit http://www.calss.org/scholarships/scholarships.html for the application form.

Future Farmers of America scholarships

Several FFA scholarships are available to seniors including the FFA/Ford Scholarship. FFA members will need to see Mr. Murr for access to the scholarships. A list of all scholarships is available in the Moffat County High School guidance office.

Substance Abuse Prevention Program

Amount: Varies

Deadline: April 17

The Substance Abuse Prevention Program is offering several scholarships to seniors. Log on to SAPP scholarship app for a PDF of the application, or see Mrs. Duzik for an application.

Athnet Sports Recruiting

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: June 1
