It's another one of those weekends.

I challenge you to make it to everything.

Some of my favorite events of the year are this weekend. Let's just see if I can make it everywhere I want to be:

Don't miss the Grammy-winning group Riders in the Sky tonight.

The Craig Concert Association brings this group to Craig for its 2009-10 season finale at 7:30 p.m. at the Moffat County High School auditorium, 900 Finley Lane.

We'll be there and you can be, too. If you don't have tickets, show up early. They're sure to sell out.

They're $25 for adults, $10 for students or free with the purchase of a 2010-11 concert association membership.

This level of event doesn't happen often in Craig, so don't miss it.

One of the most moving experiences I've had during my time in Craig is covering the Special Olympics Western Area Summer Games.

Athletes from all over the Western Slope will compete in track, swimming and powerlifting events Saturday at Moffat County High School, 900 Finley Lane.

Watch the opening ceremonies at 9 a.m. then stick around to watch the athletes compete. Trust me, it's worth your time, and they so appreciate having cheerleaders.

Another favorite, mainly for the pure awe of it, is the Sombrero Ranches Horse Drive and Maybell Cultural Heritage Days.

Stand on the side and watch as hundreds of horses pass by on Highway 40 in the heart of Maybell. It makes for great pictures and a fun family day.

The Maybell Women's Club is hosting a community potluck and pig roast and a dance starting at 6 p.m. Saturday. On Sunday, the horses pass through Maybell sometime between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., and there's plenty of vendors and activities in the park to keep you occupied while you wait.

Get all the event details at http://www.maybellwomensclub.com.

A National Day of Prayer rally takes place from noon to 1 p.m. today by the flagpole at the Moffat County Courthouse, 221 W. Victory Way.

Everyone is welcome to join in.

Call Myrt Stagner at 824-3355 or 629-0821 for details.

The Spring Mother's Day Bazaar runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Mall, 1111 W. Victory Way.

Check it out and get something nice for your mom, grandma and mother of your children. Don't forget her on the holiday, which is Sunday, guys. Yes, this Sunday.

The Sports Page Bar in the Holiday Inn of Craig, 300 S. Colorado Highway. 13, hosts an Open Mic Night from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday, a May Day Party on Saturday featuring a complimentary taco bar and drink specials and free salsa dance lessons starting at 7 p.m. Sunday.

On Tuesday, there are two choices for live entertainment.

J.W. Snack's Bar & Grill, 210 E. Victory Way, offers a free performance by stand-up comedians Nancy Reed and Jeremy Whitman. The show starts at 9 p.m. and is open to anyone 21 and older.

Serendipity Coffee Shop, 576 Yampa Ave., is hosting an Open Mic Night at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Go if you want to hear local musicians and poets, as well as fiddle and banjo bluegrass by two special guests, Marla and Teresa, of Homer, Alaska.

For more info, call Bill Ronis at 620-6589.

West Theatre has something for men and women this weekend.

The theater is showing "Iron Man 2," totally for dudes, and "The Last Song," a sappy love story.

"The Last Song" looks kind of cheesy and I'm certainly not the world's biggest Miley Cyrus fan, but it's a movie based on a book by Nicholas Sparks. Try and keep me away.

It's a good balance of genres this weekend, so maybe you and your significant other could each see one and meet each other outside afterwards.
