Whether it's inspired by tunes from your childhood or the desire to begin your New Year's resolution, this week will have you on your feet and feeling the beat.

■ Boogie down with the Boogie Machine at Mathers on Friday.

The band will play classic 70s tunes — including covers of Wild Cherry, Diana Ross, KC and the Sunshine Band, and more — from 9 p.m. to midnight at Mathers Bar, 420 Yampa Ave.

Cover is $5 at the door, but seating is limited, so don't delay getting there.

Call 824-9946 with questions.

■ Continue the flashback with some raging 80s music at Mathers on Saturday.

Recommended Stories For You

Ronnie Raygun and the Big Eighties plays from 9 p.m. to midnight, again with $5 cover, at the bar.

Relive those magical moments with hits by Madonna, Billy Idol and Rick Springfield, among others.

Again, call 824-9946 if you need more details.

■ Kick up your heels with DJ Mason Siedschlaw, spinning some songs for you two nights this weekend.

He's livening up the party at the Sports Page Bar at the Holiday Inn of Craig, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13, from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights.

Plus, it's cover-free, so you can save your money for drinks.

■ Test your Wii skills at the War of the Wii tournament on Saturday, also at Mathers.

The event, which starts at 1 p.m. Saturday, serves as the kickoff to Craig 6185, the Craig Chamber of Commerce's young professionals group.

Competitions include bowling, tennis, golf and a homerun derby, and there are cash prizes to be had.

Entry is $10 for 6185 members or $20 for non-members. Register by today and get a free drink. See you there.

To find out more, call the Chamber at 824-5689 or visit business.craig-chamber.com/events.

■ Get ready to sweat as Sunset Elementary School hosts a Zumba Fitness fundraiser on Saturday.

Zumba is a super fun combo of Latin dance moves and resistance training.

There are three one-hour sessions offered to join the workout — 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. — in the gym at Sunset, 800 W. Seventh St.

The cost is $5 for adults and $2 for children, and half of the proceeds will benefit the school. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

For more information, call Sunset at 824-5762 or show up Saturday to get dancing.

■ Remember a local legend as the Craig Coffee Party honors the late Jim Blevins from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Serendipity Coffee Shop, 576 Yampa Ave.

Jim, who passed away Saturday, was a member of the Coffee Party.

The party discusses a variety of political topics and welcomes the public to Saturday's gathering.

■ West Theatre has "Country Strong" coming in on Friday and "True Grit" for a second week. I wonder if I could convince my hubby to take me to the movies twice this weekend.

Redbox now has "Secretariat," "The American," "Red," "Saw: The Final Chapter" and "Open Season 3," so, snuggle in and enjoy the show.
