MCHS boys basketball team falls at home to Eagle Valley

The Bulldogs attempted a comeback in the fourth quarter, but the effort falls short. MCHS loses, 53-45, to Eagle Valley tonight at home.
The Bulldogs pulled within 3 late in the game, but free throws down the stretch seal the win for the visitors. Raftopoulos led the Bulldogs with 17 points.
The Devils used multiple lay-ups to extend the lead over MCHS, 42-30, heading into the fourth quarter. Haddan scored 4 points for the Bulldogs in the third quarter.
Eagle Valley controlled the post and used lay-ups in the second quarter and lead, 25-19, at halftime. The Devils led by 10 late before baskets by Camilletti and Raftopoulos pulled the Bulldogs within 6.
Raftopoulos led MCHS with 9 points.
The Devils used solid defense and good rebounding to jump out early on MCHS. The Bulldogs trail, 13-8. Seniors Dylon Camilletti, Chet Harvey and Angelo Raftopoulos, and junior Colby Haddan, all scored a bucket for MCHS.
The Moffat County High School boys varsity basketball team will look to avenge an earlier loss as they take on Western Slope League opponent Eagle Valley High School tonight.
The game is set for 7:30 p.m. at MCHS, 900 Finley Lane.
Turnovers doomed the Bulldogs (2-14 overall, 1-5 WSL) in the first meeting, as they lost in Eagle Valley, 65-43.
Since beating MCHS, the Devils (5-13 overall, 2-6 WSL) have lost six consecutive games, including a game to Battle Mountain, a team the Bulldogs beat 60-55 earlier in the season.
Head coach David Bradshaw said his team would have to run a consistent half-court offense and control the tempo to win its second WSL game.
