Craig mom donates blankets to Denver cancer patients
To the Editor;
I have been making blankets for children with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). The children are Dr. Cullen’s patients in Denver. (Dr. Cullen is Amanda Wooten’s doctor. Wooten is a Craig resident who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma).
I would like to thank Marcia Porier and Hems and Hers for making the labels for the blankets. The labels read “Made by Cindy, mother of Amanda Wooten, osteosarcoma survivor.”
These blankets have been an inspiration for these children going through cancer. They range in age from 5 to 18.
I have made about 10 to date.
The kids take the blankets with them when they have chemotherapy treatments, without the tags on them, they wouldn’t be nearly as special.
I want to thank Hems and Hers for donating the labels. It has given not only the children encouragement, but the parents as well. They know that one child has made it through this disease and they can too.
This is my way of giving something back and helping other families.
Amanda had all her scans done on Monday, and is now officially cancer free for one year.
Cindy Wooten
