Lawrence L. Sober: Honored to serve
November 22, 2013
To the editor:
It was an honor and a privilege to serve on the Moffat County School Board as the District 7 representative. I hope to continue to volunteer to support this community in any way I can. I have served on other boards in the past, and I know that this is a great community with a lot of good hard working citizens. I wish to thank all of the people who voted for me in this past election!
KC Hume is now the District 7 representative and will do a very good job on the school board. He is a long time resident of the community, a strong family man and a person who has made a strong commitment to make Moffat County a better place for everyone. He is a person of strong character who believes in God and country.
All the new board members will do a good job in support of the community to make education in Moffat County the best it can be! There are several challenges facing the new board that will require a lot of support from the community. And parents need to get more involved in order to help them in reaching the goals they are facing. Being on the school board is not an easy position to fill and all of these people volunteer a lot of their time and effort to make things better for everyone! A person has to be truly committed to serve and their only pay they receive is the positive outcome of the success of our students. These students are the foundation of our society. They are our future leaders in the community, the state of Colorado and even in our nation!
Remember to vote in 2014 and 2016 as in this past election your votes do count! And education will be a very important issue in the upcoming elections both locally and nationwide.
