Kathie Johnson autopsy report could be released in 1 to 2 weeks
December 4, 2009
A pathologist completed a toxicology report for late Craig Police officer Kathie Johnson on Thursday, said Chief Terry Wilson, of the Glenwood Springs Police Department.
However, the Garfield County Coroner's Office still needs to write its final report on her cause of death before the information is released publicly, and that could take one to two weeks, the police chief said.
Johnson, 51, a Craig police community service officer, was found dead Oct. 14 in a room at the Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs.
She was out of town to attend an annual animal control officer conference.
The Glenwood Springs Police Department and Garfield County Coroner's Office are investigating the death.
Previous police reports stated the door to Kathie Johnson's room was found closed and that there were no signs of foul play.
The reports also indicated Johnson was scheduled to attend a class Oct. 14 at the conference.
When she didn't arrive, someone went to her hotel room looking for her and found her body.
