Hayden Heritage Center to host annual Pioneer Picnic

Mr. and Mrs. Don Robinson from Denver and their daughter, who resides in Washington State, were in Hayden to attend church services on Homecoming Sunday. They were also able to visit some very good friends while here.
Bobby Barnes Jr., Bob Barnes and his wife were in Lafayette on June 14 to attend the wedding of Sarah Puff and Jabon McMichael. The wedding and reception took place at the Gatehouse. Everyone went on to Fort Collins the following day to meet Logan Howard Jenkins, infant son of Misty and Sam.
The family of Donna Hellyer gathered at her home June 13 to celebrate birthdays with a Mexican fiesta dinner.
Mr. and Mrs. Roger Olson recently returned home from a two-week trip to Minnesota to visit and have fun with their many relatives.
The families of Erin Parrott and Nicholas DeLuca celebrated the boys’ birthdays last Sunday at the Parrott home in Craig.
Last week the sixth- through eight-grade Cadets took a trip that was both memorable and educational. Following are the places they visited and stayed: Toffee factory in Grand Junction; Delta living museum at the old fort; camped in Black Canyon; indian museum; Ute museum; lunch on Red Mountain Pass; Honeyville in Durango; stayed two nights and went on a charter tour and sightseeing at Mesa Verde, Four Corners, wildlife refuge in Durango, sand dunes, and an alligator farm at Hooper.

Eight girls went on this fabulous trip. Three leaders accompanied them: Lorie Hallenbeck, Lorie Laird and Shelly Pope.
Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Mann have moved to Montana where they will live and work. Several of their family members already make their home there.
Josh Geissinger and Derek Stephenson were in Denver to assist Jordon Geissinger move to another location.
Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Hallenbeck Sr. were in Grand Junction Wednesday and Thursday to attend the Country Jam.
The Hayden Heritage Center will host the Routt County Pioneer Picnic at 12:30 p.m. July 8 at the Hayden Valley Elementary gym. The meat and drinks will be provided, all else is pot luck. The museum board would like to invite all old timers and all newcomers.
The monthly Haven birthday party was held June 16. Those receiving congratulations were Mabel Cronin, Janice Muhme, Lynda Cozzens and Mary Jo Barnes.
On Father’s Day, Haven residents Art Dawes and Gus Sauderist were honored with a party at the Haven. Their families were present to share a T-bone steak dinner with them, also to enjoy visiting the other residents and just being together.
